About the Role: Head of Compliance, Americas

The Head of Compliance for the Americas will lead the development and execution of a robust compliance framework across the U.S., Canada, and key Caribbean jurisdictions such as The Bahamas. This role is central to OKX’s mission of scaling responsibly while maintaining trust with regulators, customers, and partners.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Compliance Leadership

Design, implement, and continuously enhance a comprehensive compliance strategy tailored to the Americas region. Ensure full alignment with global standards and local regulatory requirements, with a focus on supporting market expansion and new product launches.

2. Regulatory Expansion & Market Entry

Lead compliance initiatives for U.S. market expansion, particularly in high-complexity areas such as:

Provide expert guidance on adherence to local market conduct rules and ensure integrity during new market entries.

3. Product Development Support

Offer strategic compliance oversight for new product development and service rollouts. Ensure go-to-market strategies are compliant, especially for innovative financial offerings involving crypto derivatives, staking, lending, or tokenization.

4. Team Leadership & Development

Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing compliance team across the Americas. Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning in a fast-paced regulatory environment.

5. Primary Regulatory Liaison

Serve as the senior point of contact with key regulatory bodies including:

Oversee regulatory examinations, audits, inquiries, and ongoing reporting obligations.

6. Risk Management Oversight

Lead regional compliance risk assessments covering:

Ensure timely identification, evaluation, and mitigation of emerging risks.

7. Licensing & Regulatory Obligations

Manage all aspects of regulatory licensing across jurisdictions:

Handle applications, renewals, reporting, and ongoing obligations.

8. Regulatory Intelligence & Adaptation

Stay ahead of evolving regulations in digital assets, derivatives markets, and financial infrastructure across North America and the Caribbean. Proactively update policies and procedures in response to enforcement actions, regulatory guidance, and industry best practices.

9. Compliance Culture Champion

Embed a strong compliance culture throughout all levels of OKX’s operations in the Americas. Promote awareness, accountability, and ethical decision-making company-wide.
